The festivities commenced with the launch of the hotel’s first Artist’s Christmas tree, on Tuesday, November 21, which included bespoke crafted decorations created by artist Hormazd Narielwalla. This collaboration is an imaginative blend of celebration and artistry, drawing cues from pop culture and timeless Christmas traditions.
The 2023 tree, which represents an integral part of the 45 Park Lane art series, will spotlight handcrafted representations of iconic pop culture figures, all under the overarching theme of Christmas stars. This transformation promises a radiant and diverse tribute to the festive spirit. Using his series on British singer, David Bowie as his starting point, Narielwalla has created bespoke decorations based on British music icons including Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Cliff Richard, George Michael and Freddie Mercury.
Earlier this year, Hormazd Narielwalla created two distinctive abstract pieces to commemorate the King’s Coronation, titled “The Crown” and “The Pattern King”, which were reproduced into 70 large-scale flags and placed on the exterior of the hotel.
